Geotechnical Sealing Solutions
What is AquaBlok?
AquaBlok® is a bentonite-coated aggregate that, when hydrated, self-compacts and provides a low-permeability seal in an easy to handle and apply package. Click below for a demonstration and to learn about the many benefits that make it better than conventional bentonite.
How is it Used?
AquaBlok can be used for geotechnical sealing in ponds, basins, and other applications, such as dams, levees, cut-off walls, anti-seep collars, and in a wide range of general water control structure uses.
How to Buy
For sealing and non-contamination related uses, AquaBlok can be purchased online or from any of our distributor locations throughout the U.S. and Canada. Click below to view purchasing options.
Key Benefits and Technical Advantages
AquaBlok has been specified and approved by many designers for use on public and private led applications, including projects funded by municipalities, the US EPA, US Navy, and others, due to its superior ability to:
Provide a low-permeability (high hydraulic conductivity) seal without mechanical compaction;
Provide simple, targeted, and uniform placement of high-value sodium bentonite; and
Provide improved durability, structural integrity, and resistance to erosive flow compared to conventional bentonite-based approaches.

Success Stories
Pond/Basin Construction – Portage, OH
A thin layer of AquaBlok was used across the entire floor of this 1-acre basin to reduce the permeability of the existing soil liner.
Anti-Seep Collar/Berm Stability – West Norriton, PA
Seventy-five tons of AquaBlok was used to cut off chronic seepage around a large diameter water control structure that penetrated a berm on a several-acre detention basin.
Tile Plug/Levee Rehab – Oak Harbor, OH
AquaBlok was used to stop the flow of water through an earthen dike separating an inundated wetland environment from an adjacent non-inundated prairie environment. A reduction in water flow was visible immediately.
Trench Dam - Silverthorne, CO
Due to this housing development's steep slopes, a large number of trench dams using AquaBlok were required.
